Approximately 80 alumni and students gathered on the evening of June 18 to listen to an excellent presentation by Dean John Hennessey of the Tuck school. Dean Hennessey presented a brief but stimulating description of the events which have taken place at the College leading up to the socalled “Strike.” The deep interest of the alumni present was demonstrated by continuous questioning of and comments to Dean Hennessey for more than three hours. Prior to the meeting. President Daumit had sent all St. Louis Alumni Club members copies of all recent correspondence from the College concerning the events following the Kent State incident. The questions showed a careful reading of this material by all of the alumni present at that meeting. The St. Louis Club appreciated Dean Hennessey’s time and effort. His careful presentation reinforced the St. Louis Club’s convictions that Dartmouth has a faculty and adminis- tration who are not just scholars but are articulate spokesmen in behalf of Dart- mouth.
