“My cup runneth over.” That is one way of saying that the mailbox is full. And rather than launch into long editorial comment, it is best I get to the business at hand. Let me just report that Tuck stood ready to open its doors on September 23 for another academic year. We have had some minor construction in Tuck Hall and are ready to greet our young tigers with a fresh look and renewed vigor. It should be an interesting year and we all look forward to it.

The first item concerning alumni also concerns a recent administrator at the Tuck School. John R. Allbee T’61 has left Hanover and his post as Director of Admissions and Student Affairs to become Assistant Vice President of the New Hampshire Association of Savings Banks in Concord, N. H. John and Barbara have moved to Hopkinton, and we shall miss them. David R. Singleton, formerly assistant to the Graduate Dean at the University of New Hampshire, has taken over John’s responsibilities. More about that in a later issue.

David X. McLaughlin T’ss, the new Chairman of the Tuck School Board of Overseers, is also the new president and chief operating officer of the Toro Manufac- turing Corp. in Minneapolis. He succeeds James P. McFarland T’34, president of General Mills, in the Tuck post and David Lilly, Dartmouth ’39, chairman of Toro, as president of that company. Dave resigned the post of president of Champion Packages, Cos. to make this move.

Alex W. Lansberg T’4o has been appointed treasurer of the Wm. Underwood Cos. in Watertown, Mass. In his new position, Alex will serve as chief financial and accounting officer of the company whose products include Underwood Deviled Ham and B & M Baked Beans. Another re- port concerns Russell A. Cook Jr. T’s7, a senior analyst and Vice President of Colonial Management Associates. Russ is also a vice president of all five Colonial Funds. He is a chartered financial analyst. Ernest C.Roessler T’63 has been named an Account- ing Officer at Mellon National Bank and Trust Cos. in Pittsburgh.

William J. Conway T’4o, Life Maga- zine’s circulation director for the past three and a half years, has been appointed Assistant General Manager of Life. Bill will have full responsibility for the line manage- ment of several subsidiary companies. JamesJ. Mulligan T’43 has been appointed General Manager of Stanley Industrial Hardware, Division of the Stanley Works, lim joined Stanley in 1945 and has worked in various divisions of the corporation since that time. John S. Jenness T’4B, Director of Manpower Planning and Development for Consolidated Edison in New York, has been chosen 1971 president-elect of the American Society for Training and Development, lack was with Levitt and Sons prior to joining Con Ed. Warren A. Cole T’s4 has been appointed Director of Sales Development in BSMD micrographics markets for Eastman Kodak. Warren joined the company in 1954 and has been involved in Marketing and Sales since that time.

Christopher B. Fuller T’s3 has been promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer of Acme Visible Records in Crozet, Va. Acme Visible is a manufacturer-market- er of custom-designed business systems and information retrieval devices. Chris was formerly financial vice president of this company. Josiah Stevenson IV T’sß has been appointed Senior Brand Manager in the health and beauty products division of Chesebrough-Pond’s Incorporated. Joe was formerly a brand manager in this division, having come to the company from Benton & Bowles.

Eobert J. Eigen T’s9, president ot R. J. Eigen Cos., has recently formed an affiliate company with Howard P. Hoffman Asso- ciates, Inc. to specialize in real estate financing for major public corporations. Before establishing his own firm in 1968, Bob was with Sonneblick & Goldman Corp. for six years and prior to that was in public accounting. George T. Martinson T’s9 has been named to the newly created position of General Personnel Supervisor-Vocational Training for the New England Telephone Cos.

John O. Parker T’s9 has been elected to the board of directors of the Putnam Management Cos. of Boston. Putnam Man- agement administers the Putnam Group of Mutual Funds with combined assets in excess of two billion dollars. John is a vice president of Putnam Management and executive vice president of Putnam Advisory Company Incorporated, a subsidiary. GeorgeH. Benniston Jr. T’6s has been promoted to Second Vice President of Chase Manhat- tan Bank. Denny joined Chase immediately following graduation in 1965.

Randall Malm T’6o has been elected Vice President-Market Planning and Devel- opment of American Airlines. Randy’s responsibilities will include schedule devel- opment, market research and analysis, and rates and fares. He has been with American since 1961. Richard A. LaPoint T’G3 was appointed Assistant Trust Officer at Fidelity Union Trust Cos. in Newark, N. J. Dick was with First National City Bank in New York prior to joining Fidelity. William J.Stoloski T’63 has been promoted to Assistant Division Manager of the fluid power systems division of AMBAC Indus- tries, Inc. Bill was formerly manager of business development at AMBAC and had held a similar position with Cummins Engine Cos.

Mathew Yakovakis T’66 is developing a chain of furniture store “galleries” which he explains are “furniture stores of the future.” He will open his first unit this fall in Bedford, Mass. Matt first became interested in the furniture industry while doing a research project at the Tuck School. RobertS. Marrs T’ss has been named Assistant Director in the Expense Management Divi- sion of the Comptrollers Department at the Travelers Insurance Companies. George W.Gebhardt T’6s has joined Aerosol Tech- niques Inc. as marketing manager. George was formerly with Baxter Laboratories.

We have news left over but must close this column due to restrictions on length. We’ll pick up the action next month. By that time the Big Green football team will also have been in action and we hope to have seen many alumni enjoying the beautiful fall weather on the Hanover plain.
