N. E. College Conference
DECEMBER 1970

Dartmouth played host to the annual meetings of the Association of Colleges in New England on November 11-12. Fifteen institutions were represented by their presidents, provosts, deans, and financial officers. The latter were especially essential this year, because a large part of the agenda was given over to the discussion of how colleges and universities are going to find answers to the serious financial problems that now plague all of them.

Institutions and attending presidents were: Amherst, Calvin H. Plimpton; Boston University, Calvin B. T. Lee; Bowdoin, Roger Howell Jr.; Brown, Donald F. Hornig; Clark, Glenn W. Ferguson; Dartmouth, John G. Kemeny; Harvard, Nathan M. Pusey; M.I.T., Howard Johnson; Middlebury, James I. Armstrong; Trinity, Theodore D. Lockwood; Tufts, Burton C. Hallowell; Vermont, Edward C. Andrews Jr.; Wesleyan, Colin Campbell; Williams, John E. Sawyer; and Yale, Kingman Brewster Jr.
