Gerald G. Garbacz '58 has been appointed to the Board of Overseers of Tuck School and becomes, at 33, the youngest member of the 17-member board. He is director of corporate long-range planning for the Boise Cascade Corp., an Idaho-based firm with interests in lumber, paper, and land development.
Mr. Garbacz attended Dartmouth for a year, then transferred to the U. S. Naval Academy where he was graduated in 1959. He served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps as an infantry officer before entering Tuck School which awarded him the M.B.A. degree "with highest distinction."
In 1968 Mr. Garbacz was selected a White House Fellow by a Presidential Commission and for a year was a special assistant in the office of the Secretary of Defense. He is presently first vice-president of the White House Fellows Association.
