Mexico's alumni closed out 1969 with lots of Christmas, cheer at one of the city's best known watering places: Carlos Anderson's on Paseo de la Reforma, The occasion was also used to transfer formally the club's presidency from Jim Parks '39 to Gary McKee '54. The club thanked Parks with an appropriate present for a job well done during 1969. Helping celebrate both Christmas and the change at the helm were Bob Berg '59, Bob Pike '53, John Daniell '24, Tom Catron '45, Rolland Kent '37, Jay Stahl '52, Gus Babson '33, Axel Grabowsky '60 and a most welcome guest from Wilton, Conn., Jim North '32.

During January and February we had a number of smaller, informal get-togethers, particularly in preparation for the start of the Third Century Fund drive in Mexico. Jim Parks '39 and John Daniell '24 are chairing the effort with the help of a committee consisting of Jesse Lichter '30, Gary McKee '54, Bob Berg '59, Rollin Kent '37, Jim Meneely '52, and Axel Grabowsky '6O. The drive got off to a very convivial start on February 27 when more than 35 alumni and wives welcomed Ort Hicks '21 and Bob and Martha Burroughs '21 to Mexico at a dinner at the American Club. Ort Hicks' unabashed and inimitable Ode to the College made us all a very proud and a very moved community of men and women of Dartmouth.

We very much enjoyed seeing Marco and Alicia Ibarra '52 as well as Rollin and Belem Kent '37. John Towle '59, Maru Berg (Bob '59) and Celia McKee (Gary '54). '54s, by the way, held a mini (very) reunion when the McKees got together with Bill arid Sofia Jenkins who had brought along very welcome guests in Bill and Jan Norcross from Boston.

Jesse and Barbara Lichter '3 added a healthy dash of happiness to the party. Dorothy Pike '27 came with her son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Sonya Pike '53. An unexpected and welcome addition to the Dartmouth community was Dave Lawrence '51, General Director of International Flavors and Fragrances Mexico, S.A. de C.V. Al and Janie Schumacher '31 brought charm and conviviality to the party. Jack and Anne Tansey '57 with Pillsbury here and Bill and Nancy Shanahan '62 working for Colgate Palmolive had a fine time exchanging stories on marketing in Mexico and memories of Smith.

The Mexican Club as always extends a hearty welcome — or "bienvenida" as it is called here — to all alumni, parents, and friends of the College who may be visiting south of the border. Information about events on our calendar can always be obtained from either the club's president GaryMcKee '54 (office phone 5-33-44-54) orAxel Grabowsky '60 (office 5-47-48-33).

Ort Hicks '21 (r), visiting the MexicoClub for their Third Century Fund kickoff dinner, has as his table companionsJim Parks '39 and his wife Elinor.
