DEAN OLSEN spent ten days in the early part of November in Chicago and Washington, D. C., on business of the School.
Mr. Burleigh, busier than ever at his WPB duties in Washington, has recently taken time out to address the Office Management Association and the Office Ma- chinery Manufacturers' Institute at their annual meetings, both in New York. He also reports a very interesting inspection trip to Camp Edwards on Cape Cod, traveling with other WPB officials by Army transport plane from Washington. On November 14 we were all very glad to welcome Nat back to the School for lectures before the General Management group and The Economic Problem of War group on "Current Operations of the WPB."
Several outside lecturers have appeared at the School in recent weeks. Victor M. Cutter, T'04, Chairman, New England Division, National Resources Planning Board, met with the course in General Management on October 26, 27 and 28. Mr. John W. Hubbell '21, Supervisor of Regional Directors, WPB, lectured before the General Management group on October 31 on the topic "The Decentralization Program of WPB." Mr. Theodore D. Shapleigh '23, partner, Hamilton Company, lectured before the General Management group on November 12 on the topic "Current Problems of a High Grade Specialty Store." Mr. Louis Lingler, The Sheffield Corporation, spoke to the Industrial Engineering group on "Gages and Gaging Practices in Modern Industry" on November 16. On November 21, Mr. Lewis A. Putnam, Assistant to Vice President, Finance and Accounting, Boston and Maine Railroad, addressed the General Management group on "War Time Problems of the Railroads."
