Raymond E. Marsh '08, former Assistant Chief of the U.S. Forest Service, is the author of a long article, "Timber Cruising on National Forests of the Southwest," in the October 1969 issue of Forest History, quarterly publication of the Forest History Society. This is a chapter of his memoirs as recorded by the Regional Oral History Office the Bancroft Library, University of California at Berkeley.
