Seven Dartmouth seniors and three alumni have been awarded James B. Reynolds Scholarships for Foreign Study during the academic year 1970-71. The Reynolds grants are made possible through a bequest by the late James B. Reynolds '90, who was active in national Republican affairs and international trade organizations. The scholarships have been awarded annually since 1951 to seniors and recent graduates for a year of study abroad and provide a basic stipend of $2500.
Recipients of 1970 scholarships and their research plans are: I. Juan Barroso '70 of New York City, English literature at Magdalen College, Oxford University, or theatre arts at the London School of Music and Dramatic Art; Bruce T. Cameron '69 of Hanover, N. H., Christian social ethics at the University of Tübingen, Germany; Paul M. Gambaccini '70 of Westport, Conn., philosophy-politics-economics at University College, Oxford University; Peter F. Kardon '70 of Scarsdale, N. Y., medieval French literature at University of Poitiers, France; Paul W. Ladenson '70 of Columbia, Mo., physiology at St. John's College, Oxford University; John S. Meny '7O of Dallas, Tex., medieval and modern language at Queens' College, Cambridge University; Richard J. Parker '68 of Hermosa Beach, Calif., philosophy-politics-economics at Magdalen College, Oxford University; Henry B. In addition, two men, who were initially named as recipients of Reynolds Scholarships, have since resigned their awards in order to accept other fellow-ships. They are Stephen B. Hladky '66 of Ridgewood, N. J., who will do research in biophysics at Cambridge University, and Craig A. Joyce '70 of Tempe, Ariz., who will study modern history at Balliol College, Oxford University.
WRONG IDENTITY: In the caption under the photograph on Page 33 of last month's issue the faculty member shaking hands with President Dickey should have been identified as Errol G. Hill, Professor of Drama, and not as Robert G. McGuire III, Instructor in Social Science. We regret the mistake.
