Class President of the Year
JUNE 1970

John Louis Dwyer '50 was honored as Class President of the Year at the annual meeting of Dartmouth class officers in Hanover on May 2. Accompanying the award was the following citation:

The reward for one class job well done is usually another job of equal or greater responsibility. Following your sterling performance as Head Agent in 1964 and 1965, the class wisely chose you as President just after you guided them to a win in the 1965 Green Derby.

Since taking over in that post, you have held a firm rein on all class officers, putting them over the jumps and urging them on to rewarding finishes in their several fields. Your outstanding leadership during the past five years has been evident in the development of class unity and purpose through informal reunions and executive committee meetings and the adoption of a tree replacement program as an ongoing class project.

Your classmates have been kept informed about all activities by frequent and well-prepared reports. Through distribution of the minutes of executive committee meetings, the needs of the Class and the College become common knowledge.

For these accomplishments and in recognition of your aggressive leadership we designate you Class President of the Year.
