Class Secretary of the Year
JUNE 1970

The honor of Class Secretary of the Year was conferred on Leonard Eugene Morrissey'22 at the gathering of class officers in Hanover on May 2. The following citation accompanied the award:

If charts were maintained in the ALUMNI MAGAZINE office indicating the number of classnotes columns received from class secretaries before copy deadlines, your graph would be a straight line across the top without any interesting curves. According to the memories of staff members, you have never missed a deadline on any of the last 150 issues - quite a record.

In addition to your straight-from-the-shoulder personals about a large percentage of classmates, your columns include special features based on independent research. Many think your personal files on classmates are more complete than those in the Alumni Records Office. And why not? You keep these current by frequent telephone calls to members of the class during low-rate hours made even lower by the favorable consideration Ma Bell accords her retired progeny. Perhaps you should share this honor with her.

Whatever the occasion, gay or sad, you always report it most appropriately. Your writing tells everyone that the preparation of class notes is a joy and not a chore. The MAGAZINE staff members happily anticipate your cheery hand-delivery of copy and the brief visit you make there each month. Such recognition has met with the hearty approbation of your classmates who are continually aware of your interesting material which has served to bring and hold the class together.

Len, in recognition and appreciation of your many accomplishments, we are honored to designate you as Class Secretary of the Year.
