Five Dartmouth seniors and a member of the Class of 1968 have received 1970-71 National Science Foundation (NSF) Fellowship Awards for advanced study in fields ranging from nuclear physics to ecology. The Dartmouth recipients are among the nearly 2,000 to be awarded NSF graduate fellowships for work in the sciences, mathematics, and engineering.
Members of the Class of 1970 receiving graduate awards, their field of study, and fellowship institution are Randall Davis of Valley Stream, N. Y., nuclear physics at Stanford University; Robert M. Groves of New Orleans, La., sociology at Harvard University; Robert B. Lumbert of Burlington, Mass., mathematics at Cornell University; George S. Pinkham of New York City, electronics at Stanford University; and Thomas R. Wentworth of Watertown, Mass., ecology at Cornell University. James M. Henle '68 of Arlington, Va., has been awarded a two-year NSF fellowship for advanced study in mathematics at MIT.
