OCTOBER 1971 HORACE KIDGER

These notes are the result of a suggestion that the 1903 families may be interested in reading them. I will gladly pass on to the alumni office any class information which may be sent to me.

The following list of the surviving class members is presented according to the age of the members. Edward McCarthy,Horace Kidger, Julius Walther, HaroldBullard, George Ford, Charles Hallinan,Howard Ropes, Harold Morse, LeighKimball, Ernest Brown, Stan Cobb. Of this group Stan Cobb seems to be very active. He returned home very recently after a speaking tour which included six Mid-West cities. The subject which Stan presented was the Bahai faith. Stan has for years been a most strong believer in that religion.

Dr. William Chapin died on April 18, 1971. He was a dedicated man. He rendered medical aid to ill families, and frequently received no monetary compensa- tion. Howard Ropes reports "surprisingly good health." He enjoys working in his garden. Last summer, he had an unusually beautiful flower garden. Charles Hallinan lives in London. Distance does not lessen his love of Dartmouth. Ernie Brown's health might be better. He is now at his New Hampshire summer home which he enjoys so much. The Kidgers left Florida during the last week in May. News concerning Edward McCarthy would be welcome.
