Louise Haney, widow of our Lew, has added another activity to her impressive list of activities, according to The Volunteer, news publication of the Auxiliary of Long Island's North Shore Hospital. She has, in fact, become that publication's volunteer editor. The Volunteer carrys a profile of Louise in a recent issue, saying, "The Auxiliary is most fortunate to have this very busy, conscientious lady..."
It adds, "Following the death of her husband... Louise undertook to become the "busiest volunteer' according to her belief that a widow's main salvation lies in making herself useful and completely exhausted by nighttime. Beside her interest in North Shore Hospital..., Louise has an active interest in the Easter Seal Society, Money Management Institute at C. W. Post College, Manhasset Bay Yacht Club, Matinecock Garden Club, Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society, and St. Stephen's Church. These activities are a follow- through of those she shared and developed with her husband.
"When not 'volunteering' Louise is most likely taking care of her personal business and taxes (being a statistician), looking after her grounds (especially the rosebeds Dr. Haney established), tending to her Alberg-35 sloop which she sails with friends or charters, or looking after her father who shares her home in Port Washington."
The Ernie Browns are now living in the Hanover Convalescent Center. They are happy to be nearer the activities of the College. They report that they are both well.
Howard Ropes is planning to have mer. Incidentally, Marion and I have grown many very nice flowers in Florida this winter.
