The Class has lost two members since June 15: Shirley Cunningham died June 19 and Verney Russell on June 17. The sympathy of the class is extended to the widows and children.

The report of '05 in the Alumni Fund you have read in detail in my recent letter. Again the summary: fifteen living men made contributions of $2,325, 43 donors made memorial gifts of $662; eight incomes from endowed funds totalled $7,717 and eight deceased men of '05, $80.

Recent notes from Class members: Carroll Campbell: "We are having a very quiet summer. Had a few trips to Conn, shores (about 30 miles) since the end of the strawberry festival and the Lodge vacation we have been very quiet. I am still working in the field with surveying but let the gang do most of the hard work. Get just enough to keep me busy—Clara."

John Bell is the only member of 1905 who is confined to a rest home. He is at Hillsboro House in Hillsboro, N. H. His daughter Harriet Cofield lives in Washington, N. H. and takes him for a ride every few days. Lucy, his wife, requires some care and her son by a previous marriage is now with her in their home in Washington, N. H. Her plans for winter are not yet decided. John has a heart condition.

Ann Reid sold her home of many years in Ipswich this summer for a good price and is now staying with her sister at 48 Whitehead Ave., Hill, Mass. 02045. Ann hopes to buy a condominium in Florida and spend the summer in Hill.

Jessie Brooks has a beautiful new bungalow in Atkinson, N. H. Both Jessie and Helen have been ill. Jessie fell early in the summer and broke her hip. Is now able to get around with a walker. Helen has been bothered with a painful allergy now under control after many trips to Mary Hitchcock hospital.

Mildred Putnam spent five weeks at her summer home at Bustins Island. She spent one night with Fred Chase and one night with son Dr. Bill Putnam in Lyme, N. H. While at Fred's they drove to Medford and left the secretary book of George. We were not at home so missed them. Fred's handyman did the driving.

Jane and I spent August 21-23 at the Hanover Inn with Robert and Edna Falconer. They had been taking a trip through New England and let us know they were to be at the Inn for a couple of nights.

We did not attend Alumni College this summer for various reasons, however, over the weekend we met many who have been coming to classes a number of years. We hope to make the Penn game October 9 and the Yale game October 30.

Ernest and Hilda White are both in good condition at their home in Falmouth Foreside, Me. 04105. Son John lives nearby and they see him very often. Son Richard is coming from California in the fall. They have a number of grandchildren and are expecting greatgrandchildren soon.

Four birthdays to mention: Hodgman, September 22, 90 years old; Rogers, November 10, 90 years; Hills, November 19, 90 years and Blatner, November 1, 88 years.
