The now completed 1970-71 season of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Long Island was one of its most successful. Last fall the Association hosted an educational meeting for the Island's enrollment workers followed by a prospective football candidates luncheon. The highlight of the winter season was a get-together at the home of Clark Brink '53 where the football highlights film held all in attendance enthralled.
"During the spring the last event under the stewardship of President Sabin Danziger '64 was the annual DAALI garden party. This year the event was held at the home of David Replogle '53 and the huge crowd in attendance can attest to the success of the affair. Trustees Charles Zimmerman '23 and Dick Lombard '53 attended and brought the group up to date on the status of coeducation at Dartmouth. A lively question and answer session followed. This event was also the occasion of the drawing for the winners of the Association's Scholarship Fund raffle. The big winner was no other than outgoing President Danziger. To top off Sabin's day the club also presented Sabin with the DAALI's famous TOMAHAWK award in appreciation of his outstanding service. Incidentally Trustee Zimmerman, a past recipient of this honored award had some kind remarks to add to the ceremony reminiscing about his award ceremony many years ago.
The climax of the afternoon was the annual election of DAALI officers for the coming year. Unanimously elected were Tom Kirby '60, president; Bill Morton '59, first vice president; Joel Ash '56, 2nd vice president; Mike Pender '47, secretary (for the umpteenth time); Fred Obrenski '48, assistant secretary, Roger Baumberger '61, treasurer; Allen Munro '59, assistant treasurer; and for a three year term on the Executive Committee: Brodie Bjorklund '41, Dave Replogle '53, Greg Kean '70 and Bill Laino '66.
