No Salary Freeze
OCTOBER 1971

Since salary increases for College faculty and staff took effect July 1, the wage and price freeze promulgated by President Nixon will not roll back the 1971-72 compensation budget at Dartmouth. The announced increases in tuition, room rent, and board for this academic year also will be in effect. The increases were announced last January and a large total of advance payments at the new rates had been made well in advance of the freeze deadline. Also, the higher room and board charges had been put into effect for the summer term.

Two scheduled increases, however, have been cancelled for the 90-day freeze period. Higher rents for College housing other than dormitories have been postponed, and the plan to inaugurate faculty and staff parking fees has been called off temporarily.
