Texas Alumni Conference
OCTOBER 1971

President Kemeny will lead the team of College officials going to Houston, Texas, for the Dartmouth Southwest Conference, scheduled for December 3 and 4 at the Houston Oaks Hotel. The conference is part of a continuing effort by the College to keep alumni in close touch with campus programs and policies and with plans for the future of Dartmouth.

President Kemeny will make an address following a reception and banquet Saturday evening. He is also tentatively scheduled to speak on "Computers in our Future" at a special luncheon Saturday for leaders of scientific businesses and professions in the community.

The program is scheduled to get under way at a Friday luncheon for local schoolmen, with Edward T. Chamberlain '36, Director of Admissions, as the speaker. Preliminary plans call for working sessions Friday afternoon and Saturday morning on such topics as Enrollment and Admissions, Club Programs, Finances, Continuing Education, and Communications and a panel discussion of "Key Issues at Dartmouth" after Friday's dinner meeting. They will include the active participation of area alumni as well as representatives from the College.

The Dartmouth Club of Houston is host, but the conference is designed to attract alumni from all sections of Texas and the Southwest. Further information about the program and registration will be sent directly to all area alumni.

In addition to the President and Mr. Chamberlain, the group from Hanover is expected to include Vice President George H. Colton; J. Michael McGean, Secretary of the College; Jay Evans, Assistant Director of Admissions; and Professor Charles Wood of the Department of History.
