May we all join Baron Von Kapff and his agents' team to asure President Kemeny 1918 appreciates his leadership by our support of this year's Alumni Fund.

George M. Davis Jr. has been hospitalized with a second stroke since November 10, 1970 after a broken hip and is very ill. His wife Dorothy also reports granddaughter Anne Sunderman graduates this year from Skidmore College and the other granddaughter is in her first year at Bennett College.

John and Janet Van Raalte spent the winter in Martinique, returning via Palm Beach, Isla Morada, Marathon, and Key West. Their John's family spent weekends skiing. Grandson John Jr., is at Exeter with hopes of Dartmouth two years hence. Now Jules is home he is anticipating the weekly luncheons with "The Establishment," Morey, Sargent, Mahoney, etal.

Mrs. 1918, Lois Morse, after getting a puppy sitter, packed her bags and after a stop with Tom and Priscilla Shirley took the spring garden cruise of Europe, a trip inspired by a like one of Syl and MinettaMorey.

Mrs. Elizabeth Theobod, Ralph Walkingstick's daughter, writes Stump Barr the family appreciation for the Class Memorial Book to the College library.

Gene and Betty Clark spent the winter visiting two daughters' families in California and the third daughter and Gene's brother in Honolulu. They had a cherished visit with Walt and Edith Wiley who are happily engaged in human betterment.

Tom Sturgess, chairman of the board of McNeil and Company, was honored by fellow officers and staff on his fiftieth anniversary with the old line insurance company of New Haven. Tom has also served the Connecticut Association of Independent Agents, Quinnipack Club, and Pine Orchard Yacht and Country Club as president.

Marsh and Mabel Leavitt on a winter trip to Mallorca were happily surprised to find Lymie and Kay Burgess in the group.

Stew Teaze lets his son Bob be his and Helen's Dartmouth representative and is happy to have Helen keeping him from chasing mirages in their California desert.

The lanky baseball pitcher and retired school executive, Doc McBride. keeps in trim by daily walks of five miles to the shopping center for wife Mary.

Tom Tarrant moves from one chair to another as Barbara does spring cleaning. Their daughter Jean is at Boston University for a degree in Teacher Education, having graduated from Colby College in Maine. Tom keeps in touch with World War I men with whom he flew. Doug Campbell, an ace in Rickenbacker's Squadron, had tea with Tom recently. Was it tea?

Steve and Dorothy Mahoney's granddaughter Debby Hall is a freshman at Georgetown Medical College while her sister Katy is a sophmore at Mount Holyoke. Steve also writes that Kay Dart has been ailing and would appreciate hearing from 1918ers.

Walter H. Nelson, after throat surgery is doing fine and continues selling mortgages.

Howie Park thoughtfully sent a report on the 1918 Florida Pow Wow which your scribe has relayed to Jake Ring-ham for "The Roar," where it can receive the space it merits.

We regretfully report that John A.Simmons, after a long illness, died on March 16, 1971.

At press time came the sad news of the death of Lyman M. Drake Jr. on March 30 in the Lake Forest Hospital.
