Prexy Tom Shirley has appointed Dwight Sargent to head the nominating committee and George Stoddard and EdFelt to co-chair our Fifty-fifth Reunion, June 1973. With George in Hanover to tap the folks at Crosby Hall who help on reunions and Ed with whom he has worked, tippled, fished and traveled for 58 years the Class is assured of a relaxed and interesting gathering. Dwight's greatest task is to find a weather man who can assure a delightful Hanover weekend.
Stoddard started his duties by taking Pat for a tour to our Southwest, Mexico and home via France, stopping in Texas for a reunion conference with Ed. Stew andHelen Tease had Christmas with daughter Karen and husband Don Fox in their Chalet at Big Bear Lakes. Their daughter Rhoda Morales had her second child, George Stewart. Husband Alex teaches at Rutgers.
Treasurer Stump Barr reports the Class has a good working balance, plus a fund for memorial books to the library.
Bill and Onie Brewster have a permanent winter home in Mid-Florida Lakes Village, Route 2, Box 290-58 th, Leesburg, Fla. April will find them heading for their boy's camp at East Waterford, Me., returning in October.
Via Steve Mahoney comes the report Ruth Glover's grandson, Johnny, has been accepted to this year's freshman class where he will doubtless set swimming records like his Uncle John.
Marshall Doolittle announces the arrival of great grandchild, John Marshall Rhodes. Mother is granddaughter Gretchen and father Ist Lt. John Rhodes, Marine Air Force, Kanchoe, Hawaii. At the Charles River Dartmouth Club Annual Dinner Eddie Ferguson was one of three to represent the vintage classes. Trying to get news for these notes Ed found all New Englanders must have joined migrating birds. That must indicate a flock of news for this scribe as those birds relate their travels and whom they have seen.
Jack Lawler is still active with investment real estate and is kept young by three grandchildren. Ray Smith should be at his Mount Monadnock home after completing the Ankentan Temple Project in Egypt which will be published in a Pennsylvania University museum monograph. He reports his grandaughter Bryant is awaiting her application to enter Dartmouth. Ray should use his computer knowledge to assure she becomes the first Egyptian dancer at Hopkins Center.
Dwight Edison, after his trip to Europe, decided to improve his eating and drinking abilities with what was a successful operation. As he was returning to normal routine he was denuded when a fire destroyed his clothes in the apartment closet. That is one way to get a new outfit. He is now back on the golf tee trying to regain his low handicap. Ed Felt, as co-chairman in charge of publicity, reports our next reunion in Hanover will be from Friday, June 8, through Sunday June 10, 1973. We regret to report Tom Tarrant died on January 16, 1972. Letters of sympathy on behalf of the class have been sent to his widow and daughter. Turn to the In Memorium Column for a full report on Tom.
We regret to report the death of LangRobinson's wife Martha as they were enroute to Florida January 14. Quite a shock for Lang, for it happened peacefully in her sleep, and he was not aware of it until he stopped at a service station.
