On March 25 the Dartmouth Club of Philadelphia was host to President John G. Kemeny at our annual dinner meeting. The many far-reaching changes which the College is undergoing were reviewed by the President in his characteristically candid and perceptive manner, and following his address, there was no doubt that Dartmouth has the right man to provide the necessary leadership as she faces the challenges of her third century. The 210 alumni, wives, and friends of the College in attendance at the meeting agreed that this was the most successful Club function in several years.

Club Secretary Peter M. Stern '63 reported that 1970 continued the trend of recent years toward expanded membership, and as of March 15 of this year the number of dues paying members had substantially exceeded our membership for the same period last year and was approaching a record 40% of all alumni permanently residing in this area. Treasurer Samuel W.Parke Jr. '60 also advised all present that as a result of the increased membership, the Club's finances were in very sound condition and our Club Scholarship Fund would be more than sufficient to increase our loan service and continue our four-year scholarship grant after graduation in June of JimBell '71, the first recipient of this award.

Alumni Council member and District Enrollment Director Richard W. Lippman '42 also reported on current enrollment developments. President John B.Nason III '59 gave Dick a very special note of thanks and praise for his superb service as past president and current publicity director, as well as for his effective work in integrating enrollment activities with those of the Club.

Finally, after a report on recent and planned programs by J. Paul Erwin Jr.'49, club vice president, the present officers were re-elected to another term, as were executive committee members Hugh J.Kenworthy '41 Scott H. Creelman '64, and J. Bruce McKissock '66 and Scholarship Fund Chairman, Alvin G. Dodd '35.William S. Colehower '59 was elected to fill the single vacancy on the executive committee created by the expiration of the final term of McDonald C. Heston '57, who has ably served the Club during the past four years.
