The Club has begun its new year with a flurry of events as well as new leadership. Dave Steinberg '55 has been elected president with Jack Nason '59 vice president. Bill Hengst '61 and Jim Gaylord '50 will be assistants to the president. Pete Stern '63 was reelected secretary and will receive aid from John Bausum '60 who was named assistant secretary. Bill Greenwood '37 will serve as treasurer with Paul Eldridge '65 assisting him. Russ Dilks '51 wrapped up a highly successful term of office as president with an efficiently run theater party at which over 100 alumni and wives saw a performance of "Hello Dolly." It appears that Russ has begun a tradition in Philadelphia.
The Club also sponsored its annual Dutch-Treat Luncheon during Christmas vacation featuring a panel of undergraduates speaking on current collegiate problems and a post-game dinner for the hockey team's first visit to Philadelphia. Coming up is the Glee Club visit to the area and what appears will be a significant addition to the Club Scholarship Fund from ticket sales for this event.
As the new year began, so did the Club's new membership drive and to date almost 200 dues payers have been placed on the rolls. Special thanks go to Nominating Committee Chairman Al Dodd '35 and to MikeEllis '39 for insuring the success of the theater party.
