David F. Squire '47 of Weston, Mass., vice president for student affairs at Brandeis University, is the new president of the General Association of Alumni of Dartmouth College for 1971-72. His election was announced at the annual association luncheon in Hanover on June 12.
Mr. Squire assumed his post at Brandeis in January 1969 after serving as Senior Adviser for Economic and Social Affairs for the United States Mission to the United Nations. Earlier he was Deputy Director of the Job Corps in the Office of Economic Opportunity. He turned to public service in 1965 when, at the age of 39, he retired as chief executive officer of Ansonia Mills of Taunton, Mass., which had outstanding growth and prosperity under his leadership.
The three vice presidents of the General Association of Alumni for 1971-72 are Peter Kiewit '22 of Omaha, Nebr., Carlton J. Ward '32 of Berkeley, Calif., and Carter H. Strickland '62 of Fayetteville, N.Y. Re-elected secretary- treasurer was J. Michael McGean '49, Secretary of the College.
The chairman of the Association's executive committee is Frank J. Yeager '60 of Wichita Falls, Texas. Other members include Philip H. Chase '07, Wynnewood, Pa.; Guy A. Swenson '12, Concord, N.H.; Eugene D. Towler '17, Sun City Center, Fla.; George E. Flather Jr. '41, Washington, D.C.; Robert P. Williams '42, Houston, Texas; Fred F.
