Approaching its June 30 deadline, the 1971 Dartmouth Alumni Fund had $1.92 million in hand, with an estimated 2000 gifts yet to be received. Income from Fund endowments will add approximately $300,000. If last- minute gifts follow the usual pattern, the 1971 total will range between $2.35 million and $2.4 million, but intensive effort in the stretch drive could produce a result closer to the $2.5-million goal. Whatever the final total, it will represent the largest one- year dollar increase in the Fund's 57-year history, well over $300,000 ahead of last year.
