The fall term which began with unusual anticipation, because of the double inauguration of coeducation and year-round operation, may have turned out to be less "different" than everyone expected, but it certainly has been far from slow. At this writing, it is practically over. Fall-term classes end December 8, five days later final exams will be over, and at noon on December 13 the College will go into Christmas- New Year hibernation until classes resume on January 3.
Hopkins Center (and other hardworking segments of the College) may object to the word "hibernation," because a busy program has been arranged, but emphasis at this season does move from the College to the whole community. And it is this underscoring of community spirit that makes the Christmas recess such an especially congenial time for those who remain in Hanover.
