Top Club Secretary
DECEMBER 1972

To the applause of the well over 200 people present at the annual awards program of the Dartmouth Club Officers Association November 10 in Hanover, Robert Longabaugh '53 of the Dartmouth Club of Eastern New York was named Club Secretary of the Year. He received a framed painting of Dartmouth Hall and this citation:

A Communications Officer in the U. S. Navy, a Senior Regional Planner in Pittsburgh, a New York State Transportation Research Analyst, and now a Bureau Chief of Functional Coordination for New York State, with a Master of Regional Planning degree from the University of North Carolina—who is better qualified to be Secretary-Treasurer of the Dartmouth Club of Eastern New York. Communication and planning in various forms have been your interest and profession for twenty years. The outstanding results of this training and experience are clearly evident.

You are the editor of The DC Maxigram and, as the name of the Club Newsletter indicates, it truly is a "maximum information newsgram"—a most effective, clear, complete and concise communication. For those four Cs and an E you get all As.

Your Club has a full year-round program of activities. For the Secretary that means a lot of record keeping and address list checking. You have done an outstanding job on both. When your Club communications go into the mail only the U. S. Postal Service can be blamed for late or non-delivery.

Bob, your long, hard and careful work as Secretary-Treasurer for five years has been of the highest order, and it is a pleasure to name you the Dartmouth Club Secretary of the Year.
