What a drag! Can you imagine sitting at a desk writing news of '49ers when the azure waters of the Caribbean beckon, luring me to the underwater wonders of coral reefs and the above surface charms of rustling palms? Packing—not even contemplated yet; flight arrangements—hopefully verified; pre-vacation frustrations—most definitely in evidence!

In precisely one day, ten hours, six minutes and thirty-five seconds a small splinter group of the Class will sally forth to commence the great adventure. Herb Gramstorff, our travel agent, accompanied by frau Ann will shoo the herd toward Kennedy Airport, picking up our cashier, Sam Kilner and wife-librarian Barbara en route. Mere hours will sweep us from the rat race to the embrace of the tropics where the six of us (shark patrol Doris included) have chartered a 72-foot ketch to cruise the Grenadines from Grenada to St. Vincent. Now, can you imagine the reluctance associated with this particular desk job? Coming in the next issue: no mere anticipatory emotions—pure nostalgia!

"Mallary Wins Vermont Seat" were recent headlines coming as no surprise to me and many of you. Dick Mallary, our only teat-pulling legislator, will now roam the halls of the House of Representatives in Washington and expose himself to Potomac elver which is not nearly as infectious as Vermont fever. Dick won his seat handily in the January special election with fifty percent more votes than his opponent. This was Dick's first statewide popularity contest and the results augur well for his political future.

I've been scooped by own own class "Scoop," a new nickname for Roy Lovell, who in early January, was appointed as publisher of the Milford (Mass.) Daily News. Roy has been with the Daily News since 1951, having previously served as business manager, advertising manager and most recently general manager. Not content with late-hour publishing deadlines Roy has acquited himself well in civic affairs, having served as Chairman of the Milford Finance Commission for ten years, spent three years as president of the Greater Milford Chamber of Commerce (currently a director), incorporated the Milford Savings Bank, served for the Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical School Study Committee (B.V.R.V.T.S.S.C.—wow! Let's tell Washington, D. C. about that one), served as president of the Milford Lions Club, and currently is on the executive committee of the Algonquin Council of the Boy Scouts. I figure thtat Roy, replete with a full shock of hair, has the talents to assume the responsibility of next class secretary! They say that if you want a job done right, give it to a busy person!

We do have two Deke Jacksons in the class. One is "Dana Deke" and the other "Robert Deke." I now write of the latter who, as current vice president in charge of indirect lending for Exchange National Bank of Chicago, has now been appointed to the Installment Lending Advisory Board for the Seventh Federal Reserve District by the American Bankers Association. This is no new blood bath for Deke, as previously he has served as President of the Installment Bankers Association of Chicago and as Chairman of the Installment Lending Committee for the Chicago, Illinois Bankers Association. In his new assignment Deke will be in a far better position to develop procedures to help you dissipate your income faster via usurious interest charges!

Non-truncillated Raymond (Trunc) Truncellito is now back in educational services, having previously made his mark as a top insurance sales executive. Trunc was appointed in late 1971 as the newest trustee of New Hampshire College of Manchester, N. H., his home and business town. His accomplishments in the insurance field are awe inspiring: he has been an honored member of the President's Club of Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company each year since he began selling insurance. In 1962 Trunc received the coveted Chartered Life Underwriter Degree and has been the recipient of the National Quality Award for the past 14 years. His other accomplishments in the insurance field are overshadowed by his efforts for the young. Trunc has served as prexy of the Manchester Boys Club, Building Chairman of the Pinardville Boys Club and currently is Trustee of The Boys Club and Director of the New Hampshire Chapter for Children With Learning Disabilities (there's another: N.H.C.F.C.W.L.D.). In the interest of space we won't mention activities with the United Fund, United Community Services, The Manchester Corporation and the Exchange Club. And he learned all this playing football for The Big Green!

Continue, I cannot! The blue waters entice—Kopp hates Alioto—Gunther Perdue is south searching ray fish—CharlesVanderhoof called the other night to make a date with my babysitter—and who wants a coon hound that eats couches? Aloha, peasants!
