The 1971-72 year for the Dartmouth Club of Essex and Morris plans to be another very active one. President of the Club again this year is John Trimble '58, with Don Voss '58, Charlie Parton '63,John Barker '55, vice presidents; JakeJacobus '58, secretary; and WayneFrench '59, treasurer, all in supporting roles.
Otto Wagenbach '58 and Sy Latrell'58 organized a bus trip for the Dartmouth- Princeton game, leaving and returning to the Short Hills Mall. Many alumni and friends from the area were present: Al Greener '58, Sam Smith '58, Bruce Gemerling '58, Jake Jacobus '58, John Trimble '58, Larry Calvert '58, Monk Bancroft '57, Dave Canfield '57. Walter Anderson '54, and Tom Kelsey '54. The bus trip was a complete success, to put it mildly. Thanks, Otto and Sy!
On December 28 the Club, through the help of Don Voss '58, had its annual Holiday Smoker at the Essex Fells Country Club. George Beim, Dartmouth's head soccer coach, came down for the event as the principal speaker. With an undefeated freshman team, Beim expressed high hopes for Dartmouth soccer over the next four to five years. Bill DeLuca Jr '73 and Doug Ward '72 did exceptional jobs as undergraduate speakers. The evening was pleasantly closed by the showing of the 1971 Football Highlights film which everyone enjoyed.
The Club's second annual Golf Outing will again be run by Jake Jacobus. Mark your calendar for either Friday, May 12 or May 19 for this enjoyable afternoon.
