Our club president, Bob Pierce '25, has been unanimously nominated for the Alumni Council. His election to fill one of the vacancies on the Council for the Southern States which occurs this June is well deserved. It was because of Bob's organizational ability and strong devotion to the College that the moribund Dartmouth Club of South Florida was revived so vigorously last spring. Like many of the fledgling alumni clubs far removed from the northeast, ours suffered from the disruptive influences of the war years. It was in sort of a nebulous state and probably would be still had not Bob rounded up all hands for a memorable lawn party at his home. This affair served the dual purpose of welcoming Andy Gustafson to Miami, and organizing local alumni into a cohesive group to function as a club worthy of the name. Since then we have flourished. Starting with a membership of thirty-odd who attended Bob's party our numbers have swelled in less than a year to close to eighty. Congratulations, Bob. We know that your service to the College as a member of the Alumni Council will reflect honor and distinction on our club.
Ben Watts '28 reports a visit early in March from Prof. Charles E. Bolser '97. Prof. Bolser is now retired and, like so many who prefer sunshine to snow in winter, he found his way to Florida. He has been staying at the Royal Palm Lodge in Naples.
