There is a normal tendency for winners to coast, to depend on their reputations for past achievements rather than on their present efforts for new accomplishments. Not the Class of 1960. You, with the full support of the Executive Committee, have been responsible for another outstanding year for your Class. Sixty-four other classes are glad that '60 is not eligible to compete for the Class of the Year Award again in '72.
Through Executive Committee meetings and class informal and regional functions, five in all, you insure class and individual participation in enrollment and other alumni affairs at the College and local club levels. Over 55 percent pay dues and all receive the Alumni Magazine. In addition you also maintain a Memorial Book Fund and have plans for accumulating funds to support a Class Project and a Special Gift to the College at reunion time. Your Alumni Fund combined rating for '71 was 188%. The class of '60 set a record for dollar contribution by an elevenyear class and won the Group Green Derby Award for the fourth consecutive year.
All of these class accomplishments are the result of your leadership and your open lines of communication with all members of the Class. You report fully on all phases of administration of class affairs.
It is an honor to recognize your work for the Class of 1960 and to name you Class President of the Year.
