It was a lallapaloosa: 114 classmates marched up the hills to Hanover for the 30th Reunion June 12-14, the Weatherman cooperated, the tent throbbed with laughter and good fellowship, and golf, tennis, concerts, hiking outings and confrontations with the computer punctuated a variety of events offered alumni and their families. Reuning at the same time as '42, '43 and '32, 1941 Won the attendance cup and recorded the second highest turnout ever for a 30th reunion. Crucial to success of the event was the weather, as a lengthy wet period halted long enough to make the area sunny and appealing.

Those attending were Ed and Bessie Acker, John and Wynne Ahlgren, Rob and Meg Barstow, Fred and Denise Begole, Zeke and Margaret Billings, Austie Baker, Bill Blanchard and Susanne Nicholas, Jerry and Phyllis Blumberg, Karl and Kay Blume, Chuck and Mary Bolte, Frank and June Boutin, John and Nancy Bowers, Al and Sarah Boyd, Gus and Stewart Broberg, Bill Broer, Frank and Emily Brooks, Lee and Helen Bye, Dean and Marty Carleton and Bill and Marie Cashel.

New Class Officers elected at the class meeting are: Ed McMillan, president; deponent, secretary; Lou Young, treasurer; and Bud Hart, class agent. They succeed, respectively, Bruce Friedlich, Dutch Cotton and Bob Thomas, with Onkel Lou remaining as custodian of the till.

The new officers are stepping into large shoes—the thanks of the Class go warmly to those who have preceded them. For moving their Zeppelin the longest distance to reach the Reunion, Bob and Joan Frondorf, of Hong Kong, were awarded the Order of the Golden Crank, First Class; the Order of the Silver Crank, First Class, went to Bob and Peggy Sherwin, of Honolulu, for the second longest trip. (The Frondorfs brought Ricky, their youngest son and the third to enter Dartmouth—has anyone else in '41 had three sons at the College?)

Sundry slants: Mike Markaverich '71, blind but full of enthusiasm at his work and his reception made the tent jump with his piano ... Bob Rainie sat in at length, blowing a nifty trombone (and with FrankBrooks spoke at the Med School Seminar) ... the Currans brought six handsome, well-behaved children aged nine to 20 ... Frank Hall enlivened the class dinner, outdoors at the DOC House, with his revival of the baseball broadcast in French-Canadian dialect.... the George Simpsons had to cancel at the last minute as her doctor advised against travel since they are to become parents again soon. Vital help assuring the Reunion's attendance and fun was given by Ed Lamer, Reunion treasurer; Howard Wilson, DFTD newsletter editor; Bruce Friedlich and others on the reunion committee; GeorgeDreher, who collaborated in the Memorial Service; and George Herman, moderator, and Frank Simpson, Monk Larson, EdMcMillan, Alex Fanelli '42 and Prof.Bob Sokol, who took part. For me, it is always a wrench to leave Hanover—anyone for an Attitude Adjustment?

Reunion Committee members capped off 1943's resounding 30th with a proud pose:(I to r) John (Jug) O'Connor, Dan Winters, Andy Caffrey, Chairman Eddie O'Brien,Tom Gerber, George Barlow, and outgoing Class President Charlie Donovan. Missing were Doc Fielding and Tony Farrell.
