In order to acquaint the Dartmouth community with student work, the Cheats Road and River Cluster dorms are staging a three-day student arts festival, May 1820.
Exhibitions of photography and student art works will run throughout the weekend, with photographer Paul Caponigro in town to judge the photography competition and conduct a workshop. A graphics competition will have entries from Dartmouth, Bennington, Middlebury, Smith, Brown, Wesleyan and the Universities of New Hampshire and Vermont.
Poetry readings, music programs, dance groups, drama, and films will bring other art forms into the festival. Saturday evening will feature an old-fashioned picnic at the River Cluster dorms, with pie-eating contests and tugs of war included. Candy Ingals '74 is coordinator of the festival.
