Frank Cornwell '35 has been appointed director of the Trustees committee on resources effective January 1.

In announcing the appointment, President Kemeny said that Frank "would direct the work of the trustees committee on resources and bring to me and the vice president for development and alumni affairs, George Colton [also '35], the benefit of his long experience in management, corporation relations, and communications."

Frank joined Monsanto Company in 1953 and is now retiring as director and chairman of the board of Monsanto, Ltd., London. He had been chairman since 1971. He was earlier (from 1936 to 1953) associated with Brown Shoe Company as a director of retail operations and a member of their board of directors.

During his career with Monsanto he served as vice president of the firm in New York and as a director of corporate staff departments at the company headquarters in St. Louis, his home town.

Active as an alumnus, he has been president of the Dartmouth Club of St. Louis, a director of the Dartmouth Club of New York, and a member of the Alumni Council from 1956 to 1960. As past president of the Dartmouth Club of London, Frank presided at the special banquet in Goldsmith Hall honoring the 1973 visit to London of President and Mrs. Kemeny.

The Cornwells will make their Hanover home on North Balch Street. Their son Franklin Jr. is a member of the Class of 1964.
