Thirty-six Dartmouth alumni, wives, parents, students and students-to-be gathered on December 18 at the Stanley Club for our first Christmas get-together. It was strictly an occasion for fellowship, with no program planned, and we alumni found it a special pleasure to talk to those who have followed us in Hanover. With several women students in attendance, it was also an introduction to coeducation for some of us.
Among us were two alumni-student couples: John Treadway '39 and his daughter Mary-Ellen '76, and Henry Williams '49 and his son Peter '76. Howard Sammis '23 brought with him two early-decision members of next year's freshman class, whom he enrolled for Dartmouth.
On December 29 several club members and their families journeyed to Troy, N.Y., to join the Dartmouth Club of Eastern New York in cheering for the Dartmouth hockey team in the RPI Tournament. There was an alumni reception for the team and Coach Standbrook afterwards.
The other highlight of our late-1973 season was the annual Dartmouth meeting for Berkshire County high school students. It was held October 3 at Miss Hall's School through the courtesy of Headmaster Don Oakes '44. On hand were 30 prospective Dartmouth applicants, 10 club members and two representatives of the College, Jay Evans and Jennifer Parser, both from the Admissions Office.
Our officers for 1973-1974 are Andy Pincus'51, president; Harris Aaronson '63, secretary-treasurer; Ken Way '51, enrollment liaison chairman, and Rex Fall '31, job placement officer.
