Dartmouth team sweeps to victory! In the first annual Dartmouth-Princeton-Harvard Alumni Golf Tournament held at Shoreacres Club in Lake Bluff, Ill., the Dartmouth contingent won every event in a field of 60 participants. In addition to the team honors, Dartmouth captured every individual event. Tied for low net honors were Bill Carpenter '50 and Stacy Hill '41. The low net foursome winners included Duncan Fitchet '46, Bill Carpenter Sr.'50, and Bill Carpenter Jr. '74. Low gross was won by Don Hummel '55. Longest drive honors were won by Jack Senne '53, and closest to the pin was Bill Carpenter '50. To complete the sweep of the day's activities, Dick Lowenthal '53 won the- blind bogey.
Shortly following the tournament, the annual meeting was held at which the following officers were elected for the upcoming year: Hugh K.Brower '50, president; John Q. Arnold '66, first vice president; Robert Lambert '53, vice president-enrollment and recruiting; RobertNash '66, vice president-publicity and secretary; Malcolm Jones '72, vice president-programs; Richard Waddell '72, vice president-under-graduates and recent graduate liaison; and David Konker '72, treasurer.
Among the highlights of what is expected to be a busy schedule will be the annual Christmas dinner for alumni and students in mid-December and a visit by the Dartmouth Glee Club next March. Details, including exact time and location, have yet to be worked out.
