Even with leap year, the month of February comes up a day or two short. This being the case, the February edition of this commentary seems like an appropriate time and place to try to catch up on at least a part of the very considerable backlog of address changes with which the Alumni Records office provides class secretaries with unflagging zeal. The volume of this back-log certainly indicates that those of us who are still able to move at all move frequently.

Some, like Don Badger, move just to a neighboring town, from Scituate, to 11 Indian Trail, North Scituate, Mass. 02060; and some, like John Llewellyn, move from Illinois to Thunderbird Country Club, Box Y, Rancho Mirage, Calif. 92270. When last heard from or about, John was president of his family business, Chicago Malleable Castings Co. Without any information to the contrary, one can assume that John has entered upon the admirable estate of retirement.

Other moves, word of which is of fairly recent vintage, include Bob Bott from New York City to 127 Mill St., Newton, N. J. 07860 (though that may be his home in lieu of his business address), and Dick Lewis, from Saugus, to New England Oyster House, 215 Broadway, Lynn-field, Mass. 01940. Since a guest or customer can't really make an oyster house his home, much as he might like to, one can assume that Dick is the owner of the establishment. I ate there several years ago returning from a Harvard game. The food, including oysters, was delicious; if a classmate was then my host, I wish I'd known it. Fud Mather, whose 25 years of service with New England Tel and Tel was noted in this column several months ago, has moved from Burlington, Vt., to 319 Charles Courst East, 1212 Greendale Ave., Needham, Mass. 02191. Russ Spang has a different address, Four Seasons Apt. 3305, Winter Park, 32789, but still in Florida. Previous information, though not so current but what, lists Russ as an executive of his family's baking business in Ohio. One might guess that retirement has followed. Another likely retiree (correct me if I'm wrong) is Jack Stevenson. Jack was an executive of The American Thread Co. for a number of years, and in 1970 he was living in Missouri; the records office now lists his address as 16400 Saybrook Lane, - 48, Huntington Beach, Calif. 92649.

So much for that packet of address-change cards. I'll have more next time, unless more personalized news crowds them out of the column.

The November Magazine, by the way, included a fine Alumni Album profile of Ev Wood. I commend it to the attention of any of you who may not yet have read it. The author, and the associate editor of the Magazine, Mary Bishop Ross, is also Mrs. Bob Ross. The Rosses now live in Norwich, where Bob operates his rare book business.

Last month I suggested that any of us who could conveniently spend a winter weekend in Hanover could hardly fail to be impressed by a visit to Dartmouth's brand new Rupert Thompson Arena. I hope some of you have been able to follow my advice. Information on how our basketball team is faring there has not penetrated to Maine, but the Indian hockey sextet was doing very well at last accounts.
