We were happy to have a big turn-out at our fall dinner graciously hosted by Clark and Helen Moore '43, last year's president. Our guest speaker was Al Cook Jr. '62, Associate from the Office of the Secretary, Area Director of the Job Placement Program for Undergraduates. Everyone was fascinated in that he told us about the local scene in Hanover. We were also most interested in the activities of other Alumni Clubs and groups, particularly those overseas. As this year's president, Alden Fiertz '52, led off discussions which included a number of ideas such as a joint meeting with alumni of other Ivy League schools in Switzerland. We also exchanged thoughts with Al Cook on ways to generate interest of young people locally in Dartmouth, including the possibility of a Hanover slide presentation to the students at the Geneva and Lausanne International Schools. Members were interested in giving counsel and advice to Dartmouth students traveling in Switzerland on business and the "real" life in Europe, and in the Dartmouth Job Placement Program.

For the first time we had a contingent who made the trip to Geneva from the German part of Switzerland. These included John French '71, Bert Anger '42, John Suter '52 and their wives. From Lausanne and Geneva, present were Don Saunders '57, Barry Hotchkies '73, JerryO'Connell '61, and their wives, and Dr. Bertrand Bordier '64. Alden and Bev Fiertz brought along as guests their visitors from Florida, Suzann and Herb Gorman.

All in all it was a very interesting and lively evening which concluded with an invitation by John Suter to host our March gathering in Basle. The only condition imposed was the official change in name from the present rather chauvinistic Dartmouth Club of Geneva to Dartmouth Club of Switzerland, and this motion was overwhelmingly endorsed.
