A major kudos is due to Cliff England, ably assisted by his wife Phyl, for the great job they did in making all the arrangements for the recent weekend at Hanover and environs, occasioned by the meeting of the class executive committee and officers. Fourteen classmates and their spouses spent the weekend at Bonnie Oaks, as did the Princeton football team. Meals and accommodations were excellent, and when you throw in the Princeton game, the gettogether at the home of Phil Mclnnis prior to the game, and the open house held by Bob andTanna Fernald after the game, you have the makings of a great time. Of all those present at Bonnie Oaks, only Dave Fox braved the rigors of Lake Morey for a swim.

In addition to the 14 classmates and wives there were present at Bonnie Oaks on Friday evening Charlotte and Jerry King (who stayed with Mim and Bill Macurda in New London, N.H.), Joe Millimet, Phis Mclnnis, and Tannaand Bob Fernald. Spotted at the festivities on Saturday were Fran and Lindsey Brigham, Barbara and Pete Fitzherbert, Lucia and DonBallantine, the four England offspring, and Kathy Fernald. Also Lois and Chuck Aaron and Laura and Tommy Thomas. Tommy recently lost the tips of two fingers while operating a power saw, and we certainly sympathize and wish him the best recovery possible.

A number of members of the executive committee were unable to be present, and they were really missed. Jerri and Ray Builter were busy at home that weekend as their daughter Elizabeth was being married to Brian Edward McPadden. Gerry and Frank Kappler attended the wedding, so they too were absent. Pic and Norb Hoffman,Nancy and John Sawyer, and Marge and FrankCurtis couldn't make it because of travels elsewhere, and Peggy and Bob Keeler were also missed.

While Jerri and Ray are acquiring a son-in-law, others of our class report an ever-increasing crop of grandchildren. Thus Bob Ervin advises that earlier this year he married Jeanne Suter and picked up five more stepchildren and four grandchildren. Jeanne and Bob honeymooned in Florida and subsequently spent a second honeymoon in Europe. Jim Pearson reports from Arizona that he was up to seven grandchildren and may already have added an eighth by this time. And Dave Putnam writes he is still plugging along in Keene, N.H., as chairman of Markem Corporation, that he and wife Ros are in good health and have 12 healthy grandchildren. Congratulations all! Incidentally, June and Mac Hill feared for a time they would have to miss the Hanover weekend because of the scheduled arrival of their first grandchild in Media, Pa., but the stork held off and they were present. June and Mac, we trust that by now the grandperson has arrived safe and sound.

At the executive committee meeting held September 16 at Bonnie Oaks, it was voted to eliminate the $5 special dues and raise the regular dues from $8 to $lO a year. This modest increase is necessary because of rising costs, particularly in respect to the ALUMNI MAGAZINE. Actually there is an overall reduction in dues, from $l3 to $lO, due to the dropping of the special dues. In an effort to keep costs down, "Tithe" is being sent by third class mail instead of first class. A letter from the assistant secretary of the College complimenting Frank Kappler on the fine writing job he does in "Tithe" was read at the meeting by JimStephens, and a motion was unanimously passed commending Bob Fernald for the outstanding job he did this past year as head agent. Finally, the date for next year's fall meeting of the executive committee was set for Friday, October 13, 1978, at Bonnie Oaks, so be sure to mark this date down on your calendar. All members of the Class are welcome to attend. The Yale game in Hanover is scheduled for the following day, October 14. So why not plan to attend and have a fun weekend with old friends? Reservations should be made directly with Bonnie Oaks Resort, Fairlee, Vt. 05045. Remember, it's never too early to get your reservation in!

A note of sadness: With deep regret I report the passing of Tino Lando of Schenectady, N.Y., on August 18, of Dick O'Hare of Washington, D.C., on September 7, and of BillMack of Worcester, Mass., on September 10. The sincerest sympathy of the Class is extended to the surviving wives and children. And belatedly, as I only recently learned of this, the passing of the wives of two classmates must be reported, namely Fred Mechlin's wife Georgianna and Al Harrington's wife Eleanor. The Class extends its deepest sympathy to Fred and Al.
