'54 is in town again - seen on the Hanover Plain during the first few weeks of the school year were the following: Harry Robinson, trying to get choice seats for the Cornell game; Bob and Barbara Levine, escorting son Gary on the college tour, as well as sitting in on the Tuck Annual Giving meeting; Dick and Posey Fowler, raking in all the money on a rainy football Saturday; Ed and Mary Lou Winnick, escorting their two teenagers on a soaking wet Dartmouth campus; Bob and Melinda Woodberry, sitting in the rain at the Princeton game and loving every minute of it, after all the months of the San Francisco drought; Charlie Morrison, climbing the stands to get closer to the cloudburst and, I guess, a higher authority, at the Princeton game. Also seen at the Dartmouth/B.U. game was Don Keller, with his Dartmouth-junior son Don, sitting through the first game of the season where it didn't rain three hours.

Dave Mandelbaum, our most capable class chairman, has announced that John Gillespie has agreed to chair the 25th reunion - that's good news for the Class, guaranteeing a Successful 25th. More detailed plans for the 25th, which is only 20 months off, are being evolved now. So start making your plans for June 1979.

What's doing in the business world?

Tom Kelsey was elected a senior vice president of Chubb Corp., an insurance holding company. Tom is also senior underwriting officer of Chubb & Son, Inc., a subsidiary of Chubb Corp. Congratulations, Tom, on your continuing success at getting more rewards out of the risk-taking business.

Shelly Woolf continues building his business interests that began with the legendary Woolfy's Whites during the Hanover years. Shelly, president of National Hardgoods Distributors, Inc., Newton, Mass., announced the acquisition of the five-store B/G retailing chain of Rhode Island. National Hardgoods Distributors retail hardgood items primarily through leased departments in self-service discount department stores. The acquisition of B/G stores is the second step of an expansion effort into freestanding stores. In an article in the Providence Bulletin announcing the acquisition of the B/G chain, Shelly indicated that it should add a substantial addition to National Hardgoods sales of $33,000,000. Anybody with complaints on Woolfy's Whites now will know where to find the original Woolfy!

Philip Morris, U.S.A. announced the appointment of Joe Keenan as manager of data processing controls. Joe has been with Philip Morris as manager of EDP audit and training since 1974. Prior to that, he was associated with Caltex Petroleum Company, Continental Can Company, and General Foods Corp. Joe and Carol live in Richmond, Va.
