The last item in an otherwise sober booklet put out by the department of Buildings and Grounds offers this advice: "Any problem with flying insects, crawling insects, bats, bees, hornets, or other creeping and crawling things should be telephoned directly to our Job Control Center." The booklet promises that Dartmouth then will bring to bear "recognized household techniques," but if such recognized techniques fail, "the College Exterminator will be asked to make a visit to the infested area during one of his routine visitations to the campus
"Occasionally," cautions Buildings and Grounds, "problems with bats or honeybees are beyond his control and these will be dealt with as best we can by our own staff."
