OCCUM COUNCIL
April 1920

As an auxiliary body, to aid Palaeopitus in its traditional duties, the student governing body has drawn up the constitution for a new organization, the Occum Council, to be composed of all officers of the three lower classes. The purposes of the new institution are set forth as "(a) To aid Palaeopitus in executing its purposes, as defined in its constitution. . . . (b) To act as the means of direct contact between Palaeopitus and the undergraduate body." The Council, will have Indian head insignia, commemorative of Samson Occum, and will wear white hats, similar to those of the elder body, on all official occasions. The new group has the power to consider any matters of student interest and to make recommendations to Palaeopitus concerning such matters. Meetings are to be held the first Monday of each month and at such other times as Palaeoipitus may direct.
