A happy and healthy New Year, one and all!
As this column is being written, more than a month prior to its publication, the first vestiges of winter have arrived the cold and a light blanket of snow. In the Midwest, the area where Clevelanders would have you believe their city is situated (and those living in Shaker Heights or Lakewood will agree), Indian summer lavished through November, giving us pleasant memories to carry us through dull winter days.

Although the mailing of 40's 40th reunion schedule put out by Bob Austin got past the Alleghenies and into our mailbox just three days ago, the report back from Gordie Wentworth carried a strong positive response from those definitely planning to attend. Already, heard from are Gary and Lucille Allen, Red" Arwe, "Cop" Batchelder, Brownie and Joyce, Joe and Janet Burnett, "Ric" and Ellen Davidson, Hugh Dryfoos and wife Joan, Ed Fritz, Sid Harrington and his daughters, Cliff and Christine Holmes, John and Lois Moody, Joe Rinehart and wife Lois, Jack Good Hands" Schleicher and Inez, and Stet Whitcher. If all goes well, as it has started, Gordie promises to make the scene, too.
Those rumblings heard from the general direction of west of the Rockies are believed to have emanated from Ostrander's bailiwick, where he is in training to be an auctioneer next June 10. Hot off the wire from the opposite coast, believed to be from Jack Anderson's or Bob Woodward's net, is word that one of the choice items to be auctioned is a vasectomy, with Dr. "Good Hands" the donor. Another bright note on 40's 40th just received has DaveDance committed to moderate Wednesday's enligfoening seminar about ". . . the Rest of Your Life." The pulse is quickening, the reunion is approaching fast (dates: June 9-12, 1980). Send Wentworth your card or note indicating that you, too, will be there.
