The Big Green is off to a good start this season and so is our mini-reunion program. Full details will be in the next issue and in " '53Out." A big wah-hoo-wah to Don Smith, who organized it.

It's not too early to make your plans for the class ski week during the last two-week period in March, 1981. Space has been reserved at Devil's Thumb Ranch in Fraser, Colo. This is the Rocky Mountain cross-country training site for the U.S. Ski Team. The food is excellent, the accomodations marvelous, and the crosscountry trail system superbly maintained. The cross-country trails range from flat to world class, and the solitude is bottomless. The end of the road is where the ranch begins, both literally and fuguratively. Twelve miles away is the Winter Park alpine ski area with its new development Mary Jane. It's supposed to be the best ski area in Colorado, with the pitch of Ajax, the powder of Vail's backhills, and acres and acres of carefully groomed open slopes. And if you want night life, the town of Winter Park has plenty as well. Contact the Ranch directly at Box 125, Fraser, Colo., 80442, or call free, 800/525-3051. If you only have time for one week, aim for beginning March 17. Put Blodgett is in charge.

Dave Stanley has been elected to the board of trustees of the Maine Historical Society. He is a senior vice president of Unionmutual which he joined in 1960. He is active in civic and health affairs, a member of the Maine Governor's Task Force, and a former chairman of the Maine State Health Coordinating Council.

Bill Hutchinson has joined the executive search firm of Christenson & Montgomery Inc. in Morristown, N.J., as vice president. Bill has had over 26 years of outstanding banking experience meeting the financial needs of companies in a broad range of industries. Most recently he was group vice president at Fidelity Union Trust Co. in Newark. Bill is also a trustee of St. Barnabas Medical Center.

Dick Flemming is also in the health business. He is a private consultant to health-care facilities on planning and relationships with government agencies. Last spring he was on a panel at Dartmouth discussing career opportunities in the health-care sector.

Have you seen the Wall Street Journal advertising brochure featuring Larry Kelly? Two and a half years ago, Larry and a partner opened Kelly Associates, Ltd., a brokerage house in Houston. Their initial staff of seven has grown to 26 service trainers and secretarial people, and the business is the largest brokerage house in the Southwest, specializing in transaction service. And it just gained membership on the New York Stock Exchange. Larry's ads claim that their company saves you between 55 and 60 per cent of the prevailing rates at firms providing research. Orders are relayed by voice or high-speed wire direct to the appropriate exchange or the best O.T.C. market. Trades are cleared by a Wall Street firm and all accounts are protected to $500,000.

Some news about the next generation: Have you ever wondered who is talking when E. F. Hutton listens? Well, it's Bill Beutel's son, Peter. He is their chart analyst, responsible for predicting the trends that affect various markets. Do editors beget editors? Brock Brower's son Monty, a College senior, was selected this summer for a job in the highly competitive 1980 magazine internship program sponsored by the American Society of Magazine Editors. He worked in the international division of Newsweek with an opportunity to gain valuable experience in the field of international correspondence and magazine journalism.

That's it for this month. A happy Thanksgiving to all.
