Year Two of the Dwyer Administration. A few Dartmouth visitors passed through town this summer. Gordie Miles '76 visited Montreal twice, once en route to his fifth reunion. Intrepid voyageur Dan Nelson was seen heading for the mosquito-infested wilds of northern Ontario for a canoe trip down the Missinaibi River to james Bay. Dan must now be able to identify every one of Canada's 62 species of black fly. This year Dan is at Princeton's Department of Religion, where he'll teach and pursue a Ph.D.

Peter Quinn and Keith Bellows '74 were also summer visitors. Peter is teaching again this year at a school south of Montreal. Keith is busy writing and editing reams of copy for Hockey magazine, as well as turning out freelance magazine articles. After one of my wife Barbara's great vegetarian meals, the wine and talk flowed until the wee hours. The last subject that I recall was the implications of after-life experiences. Must have been protein deficiency. Dan and Rosey Skorich very thoughtfully sent a card on our first wedding anniversary, and included a picture of their 18-month-old centerfold daughter, Danielle, who looks extremely saucy in her sailor suit. Dan claims she still has Rosey's nose, thank God.

Barry Harwick sent a short note to say that Ed Spinney, now a third-year law student at the University of Oregon, is running with the Athletics West Track Club. At an Oregon meet, Ed ran a 3:57.4 mile, making him the first Dartmouth runner to break the four-minute barrier, according to Barry. "Ed ran a 4:09 at Dartmouth and has never given up trying to improve," says Barry. "He's a great competitor." Ed competed at meets in Europe during July and August.

Anthony "TK" King and wife Sharon are the proud parents of a five-pound, 13-ounce daughter named Tanya Elaine. This past June TK and Sharon completed their three-year residency program in internal medicine at Harlem Hospital in New York, where they will continue to work in the ambulatory care department.

Rick Paul was married to Paula Ann Coolsaet on July 25 in Grosse He, Michigan. Their two-week honeymoon included stops in California and Hawaii. I'm still looking for that postnuptial report. Rick.

Bruce Backa has been named director of planning and operations at Quebec's Shawbridge center for juvenile offenders. Bruce manages the 1,800-acre property 45 miles north of Montreal, as well as seven group homes in and around Montreal.

Final note: In case you get this issue in time, there will be a class of 1975 mini-reunion in Boston on October 16. Our class has reserved a room in the Boston-Sheraton prior to the Harvard game. The cash bar is open from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Check at the registration desk for the room number.
