I'll bet you didn't know that Bob Williams is the new president-elect of the American Society for Microbiology, the oldest single life science organization in the world, with an active membership of over 31,000. In his spare time, Bob is professor of microbiology and director of graduate studies in the Department of Microbiology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Tex. So it is a "well done" for Bob. Speaking of spare time, with plenty to do, Charlie Dell advises us that he has retired from the U.S. Department of Education, following 30 vcars of service with the federal government.

The weekend of May 7 was Class Officers Weekend in Hanover, and a Friday luncheon saw '42s Dick Burns, Ad Winship, Andy Wood. A 1 Britton, Jackie Quayle, Dick RuKCn, Allan Dingwall, Warren Kreter, Dave Heald, Dick Cardoza, and Bob Kirk in attendance. Among other things, the group received Andy Wood's treasurer's report (we're solvent), thanked Dick Lippman for the new directory, and congratulated Ad Winship for the superlative manner in which he is leading the Campaign for Dartmouth. During the course of the weekend, we discovered that the College has a president who is a fine speaker with a sense of humor, and that we have a glee club that sings Dartmouth songs with zip, verve, and a tremendous amount of talent. Most of the i2 conversation had to do with our reunion, and, believe me, Dave Heald has put together a real winner. By the time you read this, that extravaganza will be a thing of the past, so for those who were here . . . wasn't it a gas? And for those who weren't . . . what a pity!

And now, my farewell to the troops. This concludes my activities as class secretary, and this is the final column of the total of 41 I have ground out. In spite of my grousing and O(nu's) in, it has been an enjoyable task. It's another way to serve the class and the College, and, after all. isn't that what it's all about? My successor is ready, willing, and able, so you'll get to meet him in the September issue. In the meantime, have a good summer.
