From the far reaches of the Northland comes word from Aron Wolf, who proudly notes that he and his wife Pat are coming up on their 15th year as residents in Anchorage, Alaska. Our three children are truly 'Sourdoughs' ! I am president of a psychiatric clinic and work on the clinical faculty of the University of Washington's Medical School. As western regional representative for the American Psychiatric Association, I am able to travel to the outside' several times a year. There is an active Dartmouth Alumni Association in Anchorage, but unfortunately no other 's9ers.
Jim Sanford has worked for the past ten years as a cook and chef at various restaurants around the country, all the while spending summers on Martha's Vineyard developing the Catered Clambake. "In the spring of 1980 I had the rather privileged feeling that I did not want to spend my summers on Martha s Vineyard anymore. Before abandoning the Catered Clambake, I decided to try to make a go of it in New York. A story in the Daily News was a blessing that happily made my business an instant success. I have just returned from seven weeks of wandering around in Egypt and Morocco and am now back in New ork gearing up for the coming summer season and. hopefully. many clambakes. 1 am not. nor have I ever been, married."
A lengthy communication postmarked Potomac. Md., was received from Mai Halliday. Highlights: Son Malcolm is at the University of Colorado, which has inspired western U.S.A. travel as well as an overseas visit with family to Iceland and Europe last summer. In Iceland for five weeks, sons Malcolm and Eric worked in their uncle's factory and went salmon fishing with their grandfather. Then on to Germany and a Rhine boat trip. Austria, Italy. France, and Spain. Now in Maryland, all is going well.
John Daniels has started a new law firm in Los Angeles called Daniels Banatta & Fine which currently employs seven lawyers.
David Spaulding recently joined Southern Pacific Communication Company (providers of the long-distance telephone service called SPRINT) as vice president of engineering. Dave is based in Burlingame, Calif., and lives in nearby Los Altos with wife Jeanne and two daughters. Kristin, 13, and Jennifer, ten.
Bart Bartholomew has broken the silence with a communique from Long Beach. Calif. "Wife Sharon teaches, weaves, sculpts, and is very active in the P.T.A. Sons Lee, 17, and Rex, 14, arc both taller than I am and arc very active in music, so we enjoy lots of concerts. This June will mark 20 years for me with the Center for Disease Control, part of the U.S. Public Health Service. I helped interview threecandidates for Dartmouth recently and enjoyed the chance to talk about Dartmouth!"
Mike Nolen got married to Debbie Gledhill in September 1981 in Milton, Mass., and they now make their home in Boston on Beacon Street. "I am in the fourth year of my own management consulting business, having previously spent nine years as an officer at Kidder Peabody and Company (in brokerage) and nineyears as vice president, marketing, of Massachusetts Financial Services (mutual funds). We have a second home at Waterville Valley, N.H., where we have enjoyed a winter of unusually fine skiing."
Bob Danielson has lived for the past five years in San Luis Obispo, Calif. "I am enjoying a busy practice in general and peripheral vascular surgery. I live on the ocean in a beautiful small coastal resort. Karin, my oldest daughter, is a freshman at Pomona College in Claremont, Calif."
