A couple of months ago several of us, accompanied by spouses in most cases, got together for a weekend meeting in Hanover courtesy of the Alumni Fund. Among those '69s who showed their faces at one point or another were Tom Parks, Dick Glovsky, Peter Anderson, Mike Hermann, Pete Zacchilli, Bill Stableford, John Leavitt, and Lyle Nyberg. Dick did a terrific job of organizing what proved to be a most enjoyable and productive two days.

In case your memory is hazy, last year we came up lame and hobbled to a convincing lastplace finish in the Green Derby, the inter-class annual run for the money on behalf of the Alumni Fund. Thanks to Dick's considerable efforts and your munificent support, this year saw us establish an early lead out of the gate, one which we have not relinquished even now as we round the last pole and head for home. Early Saturday morning discussions amongst your executive committee members focused on sundry ploys, short of resorting to the whip, which could be utilized in order to consummate the victory. One such tactic, telethons, yielded not only additional greenbacks but the following bits of news as well.

Bill Jaspersohn is living near Stowe, Vt., and has been working on a screenplay while supporting himself by doing free-lance work for Sports Illustrated. Obstetrician-gynecologist Alfred Sloan and his wife, who call Santa Ana, Calif., home, are expecting their third child. Reminds me of the story of the bartender who became an alcoholic. Alan Fraker, when not prepping the preppies at Deerfield Academy, is at Dartmouth as director of the summer institute for teachers. While we're on the subject, Chet Halka has forsaken the Holy Cross Department of Modern Language and Literature for a position teaching Spanish at St. Andrew's School in Middleton, Del. Meantime, Mike Stratton remains a fixture at the Carroll School.

Arthur Fergenson is general counsel for ACTION, while Steve Amundsen toils as manager of a home improvement center in Kansas City. Peter D. Robinson is assistant parliamentarian to the U.S. House of Representatives, which, simply put, means he referees free-for-alls. Wife Connie is special assistant to the director of operations, antitrust division, Department of Justice, which means she decides just how free-for-oils the business climate will be. The Denver Rocky Mountain News employs Alan Gordon as its Washington correspondent, and Steve Cline has moved from New Jersey to Rowayton, Conn., where he is a senior product manager for ICS-Intext. Mike Neal travels extensively in Europe as controller of international operations for Elizabeth Arden. Roy Hitchings is now a hospital administrator at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, and David Norden has been appointed head of the undergraduate library at the Unversity of Michigan.

John Briganti writes that he has been joined by Jay Glaser at Maharishi International University in Fairfield, lowa, where they will be participating in a three-year research project investigating "consciousness as a field of all possibilities" as developed through the practice of the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi programs. Specifically, they postulate that knowledge is structured in consciousness and that the 1 earning/acting processes can be improved by improving the level of one's mental state. Great stuff. My impaired learning abilities are no doubt directly attributable to my innately unconscious state. Which explains why everywhere I go people are always making snide remarks like, "Hey! Wake up, stupid!"

On a final note, you should all give some thought to possible reunion activities a year from now. Other than everyone's hands-down favorite, namely giving money, we haven't as yet begun to round out the pastime agenda. Dave Prentice will be sending out a questionnaire on the subject within the near future, so make a mental note of what types of activities you'd like to see.
