Jack Witte writes that since their last child has graduated from Dartmouth (daughter Jeanie '82), family travels have been headed west rather than east, including excursions to Hawaii and to Alaska with son Eric '77 and Chad in July.

Bob Norris of Caldwell, N.J., reports on his remarriage in 1980 to Ruthann Sellars. He says that besides running his retail hardware home center, he is president of the board of trustees of a 50 bed alcohol rehabilitation center for indigent men and women. Sailing on Long Island Sound aboard his 43 foot Irwin sloop is his big recreational activity. In the winter, he says," I just hibernate."

Jack Tyler is enjoying the relief that many classmates enjoy, now that his three daughters and two sons have finished college. Wife Katie is still teaching business in Lewiston, N.Y., and they are thinking of retirement in another year.

Fletch Ingals now lives in Glenbrook, N.Y., following his October 1 retirement as a captain for American Airlines after 33 years. He flew his last 747 trip to Hawaii in September. Fletch owns his own plane and expects to do charter flying when not skiing or playing tennis.

Bryan Battey reports on his recent marriage to Jean Horton, following Torrey's death two years ago. Hence Horton-Battey Music, a two-person conglomerate which teaches and performs music, interprets in Japanese, does laundry, and raises teenagers. Step-daughter Jennifer just graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology as a photojournalism major. Bryan urges all Down Maine hands to check in with the Batteys at Little Deer Isle or Admiral's View, Nags Head, during the summer, and not to pass through Washington, D.C., with out touching base at other times.

Jim Boyes of Charlotte, N. C., has closed up shop and given up his 25 year practice as a hand orthopedic surgeon. This fall he will start architecture at the University of North Carolina (Charlotte) with two of his four daughters. Lake and inland sailing fill the voids. Jim reports that Jim Pettit and PhilHildreth also reside in Charlotte and that Ashley "Bill" Burner has found his "rock" on Cape Cod.

Dr. Bert Schwarz enjoys the good life in Vero Beach, Fla., where he practices psychiatry. He has published two volumes of UFODynamics, dealing with the psychiatric and psychic aspects of the UFO syndrome

what kinds of individuals have UFO sightings, how to evaluate their credibility, and the interpretation of claims of alleged contact with UFO entities. He says he hopes to become more involved in UFO-telekinesis investigations ("mind over matter") and urges classmates with any UFO experiences to report (305/231-5220). Son Eric is a broker in Stuart, Fla., and daughter Lisa is a drug clinic nurse in Miami.

Bob Day of Alexandria, Va., retired from the Navy in 1963 after 20 years as a Supply Corps officer, was director of administration for the Navy Federal Credit Union until 1974, and is now director of planning in the Navy Controllers Office, developing plans for improved financial management in the Navy. Son Bob is a lawyer, son Brad works for Westing house, and daughter Cheryl is married to a submariner now working for Babcock and Wilcox in Lynchburg, Va.

Reg and Nancy Pierce were visiting daughter Sarah, who manages a dress shop in Newport, R.I.,, and ran into John and EdieMcClintock and son Corey, who were in town to see the son of Minneapolis friends who was crewing on the Courageous. Daughter Marney is married to a business man on Martha's Vineyard and has presented the McClintocks with a new grandchild. Son John Jr. is with the Peace Corps in Guadalcanal and has two children (it costs him a downpayment on his house to fly home). Son Lon '77 is a lawyer with the Rutland, Vt., Legal Society.

Frank and Betty Lagay of New Canaan, Conn., have written of his planned retirement as president of Thomson Company, manufacturers of Sporthomson and Lady Thomson apparel. They will winter on Marco Island and spend the summers at Eastman in nearby Grantham, N.H. Frank's father was in the class of 1917, son Frank was '67, son-in-law Steve Shaffer also was '67, and, as Betty puts it, "Here we are like old elephants coming back to the Hanover area." There are quite a few '46 elephants already here that will welcome the Lagays and other '46ers who make the same great decision.
