Tom Roulston continues to make things happen in Cleveland. This time, Tom has put together an outside investor group which pumped $12,000,000 into a savings and loan association to be named Women's Federal Savings Bank. For his efforts, Tom became chairman of the board.

It's always enlightening to hear from CyMuromcew and to learn of his strategic wanderings. Earlier this year, he interpreted for Vice President George Bush in Geneva and stayed on with our START delegation discussing the possible reduction of strategic arms. While there, he met up with a couple of other Dartmouth types Jack Mendelson '56 and Rear Admiral William Williams '50. Cy must be accumulating a wealth of anecdotes which we hope he'll share with us someday.

Like most classmates, Cal Bristol checks in once every 28 years. Quoting his postcard from Manitoba, Canada: "Married to Norma Tweedy of Flin Flon for 22 years and have two children. Spend holiday time as a bush pilot. I keep trying to get to Hanover for reunions, but something always comes up." Secretary's note: In Flin Flon? Cal is teaching geology at Brandon University and is heading up the department for the second time.

Maintaining close ties with his secondary school has been George McGregor of Haver-hill, Mass., who is a member of Governor Dummer Academy's new international advisory council. The objectives of this group include increasing national awareness and recruitment as well as assisting in long range planning. George keeps in touch with other GDA alumni Dan Musser, Bob Morse,Phil Hadley, Ron Campion, Bob Wenz, and myself but only during fund raising time, of course.

I hope you didn't miss the two page spread (on pages 794 and 795) in the June edition of National Geographic featuring an aerial view of Pikeville, Ky. "This is the hometown of Frank Carlton and has become notorious as a result of publicity in this column. An interesting aspect of the photo is that you can now understand the reasoning behind the cutthrough project Frank has been describing for the past few years. And as the state has awarded Pikeville $17.1 million in highway work, Frank will have the opportunity to travel out on occasion, perhaps to a reunion or two.

A reminder that our 30th reunion next year with the classes of'53 and '54 will be Monday, June 11, through Friday, June 14. Hanover is beautiful any time of year, but June is one of the more comfortable months, when good weather is guaranteed. The last time it rained in Hanover in June was during our graduation ceremonies. Make the effort to be with us: '55 Out!
