Bruce B. Wood, interim assistant director of sports information at the College since March, has been appointed permanently to the position, according to a joint announcement by director of athletics Ted Leland, and John C. Heston, Jr. '54, the College's director of communications.
Wood, 30, previously worked as sports editor of the Carlisle (Pa.) Evening Sentinel. From 1979 to 1981, he was a sports writer for the Lebanon (N.H.) Valley News, covering more than 15 high schools in addition to Dartmouth College.
A native of North Plainfield, NJ, Wood earned a bachelor's degree in English from Upsala (NJ) College and a master's degree in journalism from Penn State University in 1979. He will serve as the DCAC photographer in addition to other duties as a writer and statistician.
