Belated word from Sarasota, Fla., tells of the death of Ken Nugent's wife, Lydia B., April 19 at Memorial Hospital. Besides Ken she leaves two sons, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Chuck MacMillan writes that their travel has been limited mostly to seeing their boys. Rick '66, Tuck '70 (class secretary for '66) lives in Franklin Lakes, N.J., and Jim lives in Modesto, Calif. Since Chuck and Sally live in Illinois, they have a lot of East/West territory to cover, mostly driving rather than flying. Chuck's roots in Denver take him back there for a few days in the summer to see old friends and relatives. Sally has recently been off to England on a (women only) garden club tour. Chuck is "plugging along" and unfortunately sees few Dartmouth people in his area.

Bob Misch adds a note concerning his first ever "wine do" in Hanover, mentioned in an earlier column; he says that it was "really great" representing '25 and Tuck '26 with a big turnout on both days (including Larry andDot Leavitt). Janet and he stayed at the Inn the first night and then with Dris Huberth in Lyme for the ensuing two days. Bob gives credit to Andy Steele, dean of Alumni Affairs, for beautifully organizing the two-day deal. If any classmate wants a wine talk/tasting out his way, contact Bob. (Adv.)

Sometime I should like to see these notes or the newsletter carry a story on our class yachts and other craft. We hear now and then of Bob Borwell's yacht in Nantucket Sound or in Florida and the Jenkins's numerous yachts with their intriguing Latin names (Unitas, Secundarius, Tertias, Quartorius, Quintania, or something like that ask Billee for complete details), and then Whitey White with his series of White Indian, Wah-Hoo-Wah,Oceans, Wah Whoo, and Wahoo in Marblehead. There are also Pete Haffenreffer's several Narragansett Bay cruising boats (names currently unknown), Sleigh's Hacker and She likibouqui I, II and III (Gaelic for Little Snail), and Ev Learnard's 23-foot sloop in Sandwich, Mass. Come on, '25 sailors, stand up and be counted.

Norman "Red" Martin, reporting from Longmeadow, Mass., regrets that he and Elery will have to forego their usual vacation on Lake Winnipesaukee this year due to health problem otherwise he says he has no news of moment.

Bob Meginnity, writing from Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich., widowed late in 1982, professes to be living a quiet life near his daughter and her husband, both of whom are doctors; they have three children. Bob spends six months in Florida and sees June Bryant regularly and other classmates occasionally. He was a guest of Kay and Bill Bunting, who had Ed Burns and Frances for dinner in Sarasota, and another night, Helen and MottGarlock. Mott's health is still poor. Bob had Carolyn Jones (Buck Jones' widow) and Ed Latham from Hanover as his guests, and they went down to the Keys in June. Last September he enjoyed a trip to France with his son, who is still a bachelor.

Thought for the month: Adlai Stevenson's remark that "flattery is all right if you don't inhale."
